African Art at the 2010 Folklife Festival

The National Museum of African Art participated for a full day on June 25th with our own tent that created a significant presence on the mall that day. The museum’s many departments joined forces to invite the public to view and discuss, with our experts, a wide variety of projects and initiatives that provide ongoing support for the Valuing World Cultures Grand Challenge of the Smithsonian. On display were: Collections, conservation, registration, exhibits, membership, education, and archives. The programming included a storytelling corner and a drumming circle. So many creative people participated in this daylong event!
